Hey guys! Really love the forum!

I got a Q. When i motion track i always get bad results like a wiggling tracker, which doesnt really help much. Are there any good guideline as to how to track and some tracker averaging scripts?

Thanks!

Yasen.

Hi, sorry i don't have AE knowhow but in other apps its always something like (trackA + trackB)/2. Not that that probably helps you. But what I do know is:

jitter can be reduced by other means as well including:
- pre-blurring or median the plate (maybe with a sharpen after)
- channel-chopping leaving the un-noisy channels
- ironing out the track: tracking back&forth repetitively

I covered just this very topic in a video tutorial. Click that link, and it's in the one called "Basic 2D Tracking". It'll direct you to the tutorial download and a link to the average tracker script. There's also a bunch of other tracking tutorials there on my page.

Hope that helps a bit! :)
