I've been in touch with some support-guy at Blackmagic Design, asking for some info about the HDLink Pro.
At their website, they claim that it has 6 analog audio channels out from the box, and further they say something about mixing in 5.1 surround. In other words - I should be able to use this box to mix in Apple Soundtrack Pro, live, in 5.1 sorrund, right?
The support-guy at Blackmagic said this wouldn't work. The question then is - why the heck do they add 6 audio channels in the first place, IF this isn't ment to be?...
It's a little issue, as I want to do monitoring in Apple Color, as well as Final Cut, and when nessecary, be bable to mix 5.1 sound on the fly. The motive to figure this out about the HDLink Pro is to save money. Instead of buying an external FW soundcard at almost double the price of the HDLink Pro, AND something else to output video to a videomonitor.
Is anyone able to answer me on this one? :)
