Are all those like me who have submitted their work also allowed to vote?

Secondly, i feel that you should choose judges who have done substantial work in this field of compositing because only they should have right to vote as they are experts. And also, it's not necessary that everyone who vote has a good eye for choosing the best.

I believe in meritocracy instead of mobocracy.

What do you say?

thanks,
Rohit

Nice entries this month I already voted for who I think should win. Nice job sdfx on thats surprise i had it playing on my tv with the volume blasting and it scared the shyt out of my son and fiance. Es-diar I would love to see a break down of your scene I think it looked very real.
Good job to all and good luck may the best man win!

Hey, all!

Amazing stuff! I'm thrilled to be in the company of folks with this kind of talent! (Though I do admit we seem to enjoy blowing things up most of all...)

SirEdric and SdFX, us poor Mac folks can't play your entries! Micro$oft stopped supporting WMP for MacOS X at version 7, so WMP 9 (SirEdric) plain won't play... and SdFX I got your audio track (woo!) but no video (argh!).

Any way to get a DiVX 5.0.7 or earlier or other (QuickTime?) format file so I can see your masterpieces?

Thanks!!

Selecting one of those was really tough, the contest entries keep getting better. I can't wait for the next challenge.

My sidenotes:

- stick to Quicktime or DivX/XviD, these are supported on most platforms. I had to go to some length to watch the WMVs. And I couldn't watch salatar's entry at all because "it is not a file that QuickTime understands".

- A complete bundle for download would have been nice.

Bischofftep, check under the wip-section (vfx005 - sdfx) for a quicktime version...nice job, btw!
Trenz, we're glad it had the desired effect...and scaring women and children is always the most fun! ;)

Thats odd cause its sorenson vid 3 that comes standard in a qtime

And I couldn't watch salatar's entry at all because "it is not a file that QuickTime understands".
Downloading it again helped. It didn't change my vote, though.

Congrats to all who finished their work.
amazing stuff out there.
Im still looking to find the best one without any 3D elements in it.

BTW
the big white plume in my entry is supposed to be a tornado.
unfortunatly it doesnt look like on lol : ).

ill put up a totally finished version of mine soon

I'm just updating the leaderboard at the moment - if anyone's wondering why some people are going up by more than they should this time - it's cos I didn't update it last month, so I'm putting VFX004 and VFX005 results in at the same time here....

Hey, Congratulations SirEdric!

Um... could someone convert this winning entry to something us non-Windows users can SEE?

I'd love to see the winning entry!
