Hey Guys,

i am having this problem i have about 40 elements in a 3d composite all of which form a object what i need to do is duplicate this object like 6 times the problem i am having is
every time i nest the entire composit in order to duplicate it it losses its 3d properties and treats it like a 2d layer which is bad for me the only way i figured out around this issue is
to copy all layers in my current comp then perant them into a null object and then move the object to a different location , how ever i dont want to do that 400 times for all the objects i will have after about 4-5 copys

Help please , Thanks

also if any one know if it is possible to export 3d files from combistion that maintaine there 3d properites like an expoted 3d max file

Thanks guys

I'm kinda unclear has to what you are trying accomplish . When you say the 3D become a 2D are you talking about the composition or the elements? If it the comp make sure to check the little cube and make it a 3D layer. If this not what you are talking, I'll try giveing a better answer or someone else may understand this better. ;)

No its not

what i am trying to do is this i have a 6 pictures that make up a wall so i have the back front and sides and the upper and lower parts all 2d images positiond in 3d space and i have more elements on top of that like windows and so on basicly i am looking at like 30 layers of images all positiond in 3d space to create a 3d object my problem is when i try and nest all 30 layers it turns it flat into a 2d layer with in 3d space which baisecly sends me back to were i started from wich is a flat 2d image i need to find a way to replecate this wall in diffrent parts of my "hosue" to create the illusion of 3d space from many 2d images

but instead of recompiling it on one compiste with 500 layers i wanted to nest one wall toghter once i finishd it and then recopy it over and over to createa a hallway and some depth of fild type of thing

thanks if u still dont understand i will send my .cws file

thanks

I'm feel dumb, I think I know what you trying to do, but for some reason I didn't look to see you were working in combustion. I was answering you as if you were in AE. Sorry mate. Good luck. What I can say is that 3D multiplane comps are usually difficult you may just have to deal with a million layers, but I could be wrong.
