combustion so slow

Im using a AMD Athlon 1.15Ghz processor
and 1 Gb ram
and NVIDIA GeForce4MX 420

combustion is reallllly slow.. if I use any particles each frame takes like 50 sec to render ... is this normal? can I do anytyhing to increase performance ?

Hi,

Switch off "Use Software OpenGL" , "control+;" > OpenGL > General > Global Settings > Use Software OpenGL.

When preview the top of the branch (entire composite) try to set the Display Quality to Preview or even the Draft mode to get a better playback speed. For best quality with realtime playback use the RAM Preview.
