hy,

i am pretty new to nuke, so i got a probably simple question.
i want to use images as masks for e.g. a grade-node. what i did is render either a rgb-mask-image or a black and white image. simple thing is to just connect the file to the grade node. since i have a lot of masks i find this way tedious and i would like to create a multichannel-image with all masks in it, so that can simply use the one image-read-node everytime i need a mask to correct things.

not sure if i understand.. but i think you want to use shufflecopy to put an alpha to each channel, prerender that and bring it in as one read with 5 matte channels

tried that, but can't get it to work.
how do i have to set the shufflecopy up ? i tried to take rgb from image and alpha from mask-image and set it to new layer with alpha. did not work.

i would do a channel per alpha.

sorry was a bit too quick with my reply. i think i didn't describe my problem correctly.i understand with your example i can create a file with 4 masks rgba. i would need more masks in one file. if i take your example i want to put those alphas into new layers, so i can choose from those layers. e.g. layer alpha 1 to layer alpha 10. there is a "new"-channel/layer choice on the shuffle copy node. i tried to copy the alphas inot new channels, but can't get it to work.
