I'm thinking about signing up to this later today, primarily to do their courses on xsi/pftrack/syntheyes, and potentially pay for another one or two classes if something catches my eye.
Has anyone here completely one of their 10 week courses ?
From what I have seen, they do some really good REAL WORLD training, unlike some of the other companies constantly churning out 'intro' type of stuff.

There are several threads where people talk about FXPHD, and I'd say people's advice always are the typical compositing books (If you wanna learn comping) and FXPHD. Almost exclusively ;)
FXPHD is good whatever course you choose. Go for it.

A friend a while back when they were in the UK just quickly showed me a bit, and it looked pretty good to me.
I like the fact that there is a LOT of courses to choose from, and it's soo well priced.

I have a question about FXPhd which is, I sign up for class, and what if I dont have time to follow class on the days they tell you? what if there are a few week where I can't simply find the time?
Do I have a specific timetable to follow, or a window of opportunity I have to follow or can I simply sign up and do it at my own speed?

The classes are released each week, and you are free to download and follow/watch whenever it's convenient for yourself. (I've only just signed up for the January term, 6 weeks in - not a problem).
There are some classes which may have an exam but I haven't seen one that does, and even if it does, I'm sure it's on your time as to when you'd do it.
Essentially it's a good idea to follow as they come out so that you can interact with the tutor or students on the forum.
When the term is over the activity will quieten down, then after a few months you don't have access to every part of the excellent forums.
Nothing has disappointed me with fxphd, it's something I wish to continue to subscribe to for a few years, there are heaps of interesting courses.

Each course at fxphd consists of downloadable content (the 10 training videos + scene files etc.) and the corresponding forum to get in touch with the instructor and fellow students. A couple weeks after your term ends your forum-account gets limited to read-only, but you can of course use the downloaded material to keep learning at your own pace.
PS: that happens when you let the reply-tab open and continue with other things before answering ;)
