Job Description: Visual Effects Editor
Responsibilities:
Editing animation and digital effects for feature films.
Maintain sync with outside editorial and the production team; Receive incoming sequences from editorial and spot for changes and alert production teams of new shots / omits / changes to existing shots
Label and distribute editorial references for studio use
Search for elements from dailies, stock footage, existing elements as required.
Check incoming plates for lineup
Check outgoing shots for lineup as required.
Update the Mr.X demo reel and create custom reels as required: Includes digitizing of new shots, sourcing music, mastering DVDs, quality control.
Create quicktime versions of the reels for the Mr.X website.
Data management: Organize and keep tidy the following folders:-reference/cut_sequences
-editorial
Keep the Mac tidy – arrange for archiving as required with sys adminQualifications:
Minimum two years of film editing experience.
Advanced knowledge of Avid and Final Cut Pro.
Manage multiple projects and work efficiently with tight deadlines in a professional manner.
Exercise independent decision making and creative judgment in the development of projects.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical school certification in film editing or computer graphics, or equivalent work experience. (Experience must be in animation, film or digital effects).
