Hi all,
I've been wanting to start this for a while, but haven't been able to get the Avid DV25 codec to work on my machine (Mac OS 10.3.3). Would someone be willing to export it into the QT Animation (Millions+) format for me? I'm on a quick connection, so speed isn't that big of a problem, if it's not for you.

Thanks!

In the meantime, try this URL (http://support.avid.com/support/Prodref.nsf/AdminProbSolByProduct/ECE84E24EC39450885256A1D00785424)

I'm not 100% positive that's the one, but I'm pretty sure the one you want is in there somewhere. For some reason they have the mac-codecs available online but not the windows' ones, oh well :D

How would you like it as a sorenson video 3 compressor instead of animation? When I did it in animation it was over 100 mb and when I put it into sorenson it was only 11mb.

If you want the sorenson one it is at the link included with this. Sorry, I didn't deinterlace it.

Thanks for all of the links. Unfortunately the files listed there are for Mac OS 9. Searching around on the Avid site (what a mess), I came across this link here (http://support.avid.com/support\ProdRef.nsf/AdminID/837BFD6A617C2BE285256C13005F6DA2?OpenDocument). Of course the last couple sentences state

'These codecs are not for use with DV media on Avid Xpress DV or other Avid products. However, many Avid Xpress DV customers have been interested in the whereabouts of these codecs.

The standalone Avid DV codec is included in the Goodies folder on Avid Xpress DV 3.5 CD.'

Is this the codec that was provided originally for this challenge, or a newer one? I've tried everything to get the one provided to work to no avail.

Snarkle, thanks for cooking up a file that can be used as a proxy to get started with. I just figured out one more thing to try. Since nobody has had trouble with the windows codecs so far, I'll just install those in VPC and try to convert the file from there.

Be back in a bit with an update :niceone:

Yeah, I just noticed that as I installed it in VPC. No wonder why it wasn't working before :) It took about an hour, but I was able to get everything installed, convert, and export to a useable format that isn't compressed any further. Thanks again for the responses, now I just need to find the best way to tackle this challenge.
