Hello.

Yes, you are correct that if you apply a Color Corector to a WHOLE LAYER, then you change the color of the WHOLE LAYER!

To select a specific region or color, there are a variety of tools for you to choose from.

To color correct only one colored area in your image, such as the sky for example, is to use keyer with a selection output:
1. Add a Keyer to your image.
2. Make a nice key for the area that you want to Color correct with all the softness you need (in this case the sky)
3. Then go to the SetUp Palette of the keyer, on the right hand side - Set Output Matte to "selection" instead of Key.
4. Apply a Color Correction to your image: note that the changes will only apply to the area in the selection generated by the keyer. You can go back and adjust your key while you look at the output of the Color Corrector.

Once, I used another solution for a section: Apply a PAINT operator - then use an area selection. Next, to that selection, use the Magic Wand to select the blues... On top of that you add a color corrector and adjust... Done!

Try it out,

JACK

Thanks Jack

the keyer / selection mode
works a treat.
I was initially triing a paint operator then using the magic wand to
select the blue but wasnt quite getting the result i wanted.
your a champion.

Why not paint a mask ... paint the areas you do not want affected by the color correction ... would that work

if it was a still, painting a mask would be ok
but this is moving footage
the froth is changing shape all the time.
so keying operator works a treat

unfortunatley the image i posted looks like crap when viewed through
the internet.
I suggest saving the image and open it through photoshop
it looks totally different to the web image
I dont know what has happened must be an internet thing
I work in print so i could have saved it wrong or something.
