Hi all,

I have a bit of a noob question concerning some footage I'm tracking in SynthEyes. The source footage is 1080p but I will be comping it at 1280 x 720. It seems to me that it would be best to track it at full-res to get the best detail but I was wondering if that would cause any issues once I exported to Maya. It's maintaining the same aspect ratio to the best of my knowledge so I don't think it should make a difference but I'm just getting started with all this so any thoughts or suggestions you guys have would be great! :)

Thanks!

I would track at full resolution. It shouldn't give you any big problems to adjust down the render resolution in Maya. Even if you render at 1080p out of Maya, you can always downscale in comp. (Just a bit of a waste of render time and disk space.)

Thanks! That's what I thought but as a student I'm always second-guessing myself. And 1080p renders = way more hard drive space then i'm willing to use! :p
