Hi there, even combustion is dead :-), i still like to work with.

Some of the particles are really great but they have a very bad perfomance.
Even in the preview there slow.

I think its a graphic card thing?

I use a quadcore 3,0 GHZ/ 4 gigs ram and a ATI HD 4350, winxp.

Is there a way to improve the particle view performance?

Thx for reading and any help, cheers djart.

i think there are two reasons:

yes its the graphic card thing. have u try to use the openGL preview? (after you set the openGL settings on Preference).
are u running on 64bit OS? if so, 64x OS can use more resources of RAM installed on your machine for certain compositing softwares. i.e: even though Combustion 2008 is a 32bit desktop compositing software, if it installed on 64bit Operating System (MAC & PC) it can use more than 3GB RAMs that were available on our system. Then, you can boost the 'Cache' in preference to above 50%-80% (dont use full 100%, it will crash) check on the cache meter on below toolbar..

hope this might help :D
