http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=11766#post11766 Discreet, a division of Autodesk, Inc. (NASDAQ: ADSK) has partnered with resellers VCA Fusion (VCA) and HB Communications (HB) New Media Division, as it grows its North American reseller network in response to increased customer demand for Discreet’s systems and related training. Both VCA and HB are now Platinum Level Resellers for Discreet’s high-end editing and finishing systems. VCA brings over 32 years of experience and will cater to New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania while HB will cover the New England states. VCA and HB join an extensive list of dedicated resellers who are committed to delivering the Discreet experience to an ever-growing North American customer network.
“We’ve seen a groundswell of demand for our smoke® editing and finishing system as well as many editors looking to test-drive the system in order to improve their skills and increase the profitability of their studios,” said Dennis Phinney, Discreet Channel Manager, Americas. “We are excited to have VCA and HB on board as authorized Discreet Systems Value-Added Resellers. They contribute prized market, customer service and training expertise, which will enable us to expand our sales efforts in the Northeastern US markets and offer our growing customer base unparalleled training opportunities and sales support.”
“Discreet has a deep understanding of high-end post-production and the needs of the film and television production industry,” explained Bob Spencer, VCA Fusion’s Director of Sales and Business Development. “The addition of Discreet’s outstanding and innovative solutions to our product-line and systems integration offerings is in proper response to our customers’ increasing demand for superior creative toolsets and market leading technology.”
“HB New Media is excited about working closely with Discreet,” added Alex Bisset, HB’s New Media Division Manager. “Discreet offers remarkable products that are consistent with our focus on advanced systems sales and support. Our relationship with Discreet demonstrates to the Northeast media community our commitment to the highest standards in video editing and content design workstations”.
To kick off this relationship, Discreet, VCA and HB have launched a comprehensive series of training sessions on Discreet’s award-winning smoke system. Earlier this month at VCA’s New York offices, editors with little or no previous experience on the smoke system had the opportunity to learn about its advanced editing and visual effects tools. Upcoming in July, HB will be hosting more smoke experience courses led by industry experts.
