We're doing a travel commercial for a class project and I'm responsible for the final zoom out shot. Whatcha think?

the pullback just that little bit to fast, but still very well executed.
and the shot where it comes into space and the satelite coms into view needs to bit a bit slower.
Just a liit hard to see whats going on there.

The island is still clearly visible even after you pulled out into space and the difference in water depth is too defined. I've never had a chance to work in something like that, but I do have an idea on how to execute it. What I have noticed in several commercials that do this, is that they pull out like you did, but they have several cloud layers that immediately cover the original shot, therefore making it dissappear more realisticaly.

But all in all, cool shot! :spiderman

the reason its so fast is because it has to be in order for it to fit within the 30 second commercial.

The island is a real island in the carribean that actually can still be seen from space and the difference in water depth is straight from the earth image i used. Its all from the NASA blue marble images

I wanted to be able to have some of those transitions with clouds, planes, etc. but since everything happens so fast it just doesnt really work. They all end up like the satellite which like you said moves awfully quick

Cool shot, definitely too fast. Maybe pull out slowly at first and gradually increase the speed. Any chance you'll post a bit about how you executed the shot?

Yeah I appreciate the need for speed, I don't have a problem with that at all. We've had to crowbar stuff into a shorter duration than we would like.

The issue with the light blue water in the dark blue ocean;

Well the problem is that it's the ONLY bit of light blue water in all the oceans in the world. If there was more variation in the rest of the ocean it would blend in better.

Otherwise, top work. Well done.

Very well done! Just one issue, when the "Travel World" logo sequence begins, the right half of the D in World is cut off on the right of the screen, with part of the image still left. A regular TV may cut this off, but with a computer-viewing which will show all of the pixels, it will be noticable.

looks good. any way you can stabilize the first few moments before the pull-out?

and i dont know if this will look better or worse, but how about blurring the motion blur on some of the portions (such as the beginning of the pull). Looks a bit grainy. Again, I dont know if it'd improve it or not, but something to think about.

That's all I can think of for now.
