"The 3D environment is aided by the implementation of OpenGL, which becomes a key part of the Fusion interface by accelerating the display views, the 3D Particle Suite, and enabling 3D text.

New direct connections between tools will enhance the UI experience and simplify Flow management, while double-edged masks provide greater control over internal and external softness parameters.

hot off fusion list

"Well folks, I just got back from my day at Siggraph. I spent allot of time
watching the different DF5 demos and all I have to say is THANK YOU! THANK
YOU! THANK YOU! to Eyeon for listening to their users. DF5 looks pretty kick
ass, especially with the 3d features, masks, flow, and multi-merge tools
they have added. I was especially blown away by how they are handling their
3D implementation. You now have the ability to move the camera around in 3d
space, and warp things like text and other layers in 3d space. You can also
extrude text and other poly shapes and texture them. The new mask tools are
awesome, also the ability to selectively have a gradient feather on the mask
was very impressive. Also, the new was of navigating the flow thru the
overview window and search tools, will make our lives allot easier.

I am a previous combustion user and now I think I can finally remove that
software off my machine."

lets all hope its true

I envy you SalaTar! :smoke:

Something new in the paint system?
Does the particles work within the 3D space?
Any builtin morph node?
How complete are the masks controls now?
Does the masks now have their own node?
How does the multimerge node works, like Shake 3 one?
Can you import 3D objects in the 3D enviroment and if so what kind of formats?

I have thousands of questions but I'll try to not be a pain in the arse :P

I wish I were there,
Cheers!

we use revision too ,but grid and other tools are ok
How complete are the masks controls now?

the ability to selectively have a gradient feather on the mask(bsplines)
Can you import 3D objects in the 3D enviroment and if so what kind of formats?
unknown but 404c can use zaxworks a bit
How does the multimerge node works, like Shake 3 one?

Nice SalaTar good to hear new like those, looking foward for this new release!

I have built a multimerge node at work as well, but since I couldn't find a way to code the damn macro (well...I have to admit, I'm lazy and I haven't looked too deep for it to see if it was actually possible) mine is limited to certain numbers of layers.

Anyway DF rulez and for what I'm hearing a good part of the issues that bugged me in previous versions were solved in the new release.

Cheers!

I'm speechless!

That looks unbelivebly awesome, those straight lines are much, much better then the current circuit ones which I find kinda enoing some times.

For what I see there it seems that masks have their own nodes now (finally), 3D merge reminds me Nuke one for what I saw but way prettier and in inside a much more comprehensible GUI.

Anyway DF was already awesome, now it will kick Nuke and Shake asses!

I was already blown away by the new prices of XSI and now this!

If I was there I would be :rip: due a instant heart attack :rotfl:
