Hopefully some eyes will be attracted to the big yellow light over "The Pad", now that there is a new post in it.
I've been the only one to post anything on the site in about 24 hours it seems......
Just never really happened before to me, no new posts in that long.

hi guys,
it has been a bit quite hasn't it :(
well all thats going to CHANGE very soon :)
Can you say 'VFXChallenge' :D
The VFXTalk crew have been very busy organising sponsorship (shhhhh) for some very cool prizes for the upcoming VFXChallenges!
With the challenges starting soon, we will be expecting a huge influx of new members, and lots of 'how do i do this' type of questions in the forums :)
Stay tuned, its still early days people, VFXTalk is only a little baby....and as we all know...little baby's need to be taken care of to grow ;)
The other new feature here at VFXTalk is the very cool (thanks Hugh ;) ) tutorials section. (http://www.vfxtalk.com/forum/tutorials.php) We are hoping that all our members that have some experience will author some of their own tutorials for other newer members to learn from. Give it a try right now. You can create your very own tutorial, save it whenever you want, come back to it and finish it later...its a fantastic way for you to share your software knowledge with others.
cheers guys,
paul

I'm sure things will pick up once again. The vfxchallenge should help with that.

Indeed, it is quite an exciting time to be alive.
At the moment, I don't think I have the real capability of writing a truly useful tutorial... If anything it will probably be a simple After Effects introduction, or recreating certain effects shots from finished flms (sort of the thing I said earlier in suggesting a Case Study Analyzation). I've already done a proof of concept duplicate of the coolest visual effects sequence from the Ring (you know the one if you've seen it). However, it's only two shots long and VERY bad. I guess that's what happens when things go wrong and you only have five minutes to shoot, ending up with a badly lit green screen, NO CLEAN PLATES, and too much to fix in post.
I do plan to make a second try, this time fixing everything that when wrong before, and some new things that could happen. Maybe we'll see that in a tutorial........
