Seasons WIP

OK, so here we go again with a new challenge!
I really haven't got much time this month because we are in serious post production on a short movie project I'm into, but of course I'll participate anyway! :D

After some hours I've managed to create the base for the winter season, look at the attachment. And yeah, I just have to go for a full year four season change...
There will be some snowfall onto this, and the background isn't fixed. The autumn will feature some rain and stuff too. The list could be very long with this challenge, auch!

Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted!

Looks very nice. I liked your last entry as well. (you got my vote) Is this Photoshopped or something else?

It's kind of half procedural. The main snow is a layer I extracted with some custom CC. Then there are some extra snow painted in Photoshop, mainly frost and snow for the trees/bushes. I will do the same thing but more colored for the autumn trees.
Then I'll create rain and snow with particles in Maya and make them collide with some rough mountain geometry. More on this later...

Where are all the other WIPs about the 2nd VFXChallenge? I'm starting to feel kinda alone on this one...

Anyway, here's an update of the snowy season. :-)

I know what you mean. there isn't much to look at for this one... How are you going to transition from one season to another? I more or less cross disolved between my seasons, but it needed more. I was thinking about creative wipes. like a leaf blowing past screen revealling more fall elements but for snow it's much harder to change too. I'll try to post some of my efforts so far soon. work has picked up a bit and my time has become scare.
