I am starting the Invincibility video project at the weekend, because I have learnt the basics to After Effects (Motion-tracking; Rotoscoping etc.) and what I'm doing is: Using Sony Vegas Pro 10, for basic clips (aka. no vfx) then on After Effects import the finished vfx clip to MP4, put it on a memory stick bring it over to Sony Vegas Pro 10 and hopefully render it out with no problem and put it up on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/user/auzgk) and share it here. Anybody know how to render After Effects HD in MP4? This is why: MP4 - 500KB / Quicktime Player - 1.63GB (aka. 163000000KB which is about 326000 times bigger then the basic MP4 type, so please help.

:thanks:

It's not only about the container format, it's about the codec.

MPEG4, 3GPP and MOV files - Typically supporting h264, mpeg4 video codecs, and AAC audio codec
Stick with H.264 and AAC. I use a bitrate of 1500-2000 kbps for HD. Render out a small chunk of your clip, if you see artefacts, increase the bitrate, if you don't see artefacts, you may decrease the bitrate.
I advivse to render into file sequences or an uncompressed master and to use a dedicated encoding software (Adobe Media Encoder for instance) instead of encoding the comp straight into an mp4.
