Looking very ncie dreggsy

Just a couple of pointers, dont forget to light the lanterns at the front of the cathederal by the arches and secondly, are those supposed to be fireworks or some kind of planets? If they are firesworks then I think their outerim is a little too defined.

Good work!

Great Stuff!
Im curious about the rain.. was it drawn, comped, filtered?
Excellent work on the main window.:p

the rain was done in photoshop.
using noise filter
motion blur 23 and 73 from memory
adjust levels bring your white up a bit and black down heaps
they should be fairly close together
(this adjustment determins how much its raining)
then a gaussian blur
then place on top of the image as screen.

play around and have fun
you can do the same for lightning
but i thought in this case it would have been overkill

looking good

can you tell me how you painted light in the windows

I painted a mask of the windows in photoshop
I saved the mask channel in a new greyscale document
I opened a new project in Combustion*
called in the greyscale image
and the original image
the grey scale was used as an alpha as the original already
had an alpha for the sky on it

then the fun part came
I placed in a filter called trapcode shine
this was in there 30 times!!!
all with slightly different variations of each other

i then had to render this out with 10 shine operators at a time x 3
hint ( dont turn these all on at once on a slow computer)
triing to do all 30 would crash my computer
i then opened these in photoshop placed them on
the original pic under screen
and whallah!!!!
thats what i ended up with

Hey, why'd you remove all your WiP shots?

It's interesting to be able to look back and see how something was made from the start.....

I was more worried about using up all the sites bandwith

hehe - let us keep an eye on that - at the moment, it's not a problem, and we're hoping that it might become even less of a problem soon....

cool thanks mate,
I could have done it a bit better if i had more time,
I dont really like the clouds they are a little bit to colourful,
there was a good tute on doing clouds i found yesterday
afternoon at gorblimey.com ?

im might have a play with that tute and see what i come up with.

Hi Gang,
heres my final image
i cant beleive that my other final one has been looked at
324 times so far!!!

this is my final product after a colour grade
so here you go.
I wont be touching it after this.
I would love to do an anim,

all elements are done by hand (except a shine filter used in Combustion)
no stock footage was used, i would have loved to use some for the clouds.
tell me what you think
email dreggs@next.com.au.
cheers guys
