View Full Version : Spec Commercial Needs VFX

I'm in LA - I've got a :30 spec. in need of VFX for 4 shots.

2 shots are moving and require matt painting snow capped mountains into the background.

Another shot involves painting pine trees into the background.

The last shot is adding bulk to a taxidermied bear - by pasting/blending fur onto the bear.

I'm looking to get this done as soon as possible - my hope is to find a junior at a VFX house w/ machine access who is looking to bolster their own reel with good work.

Spot is 35mm - elements are on Digi Beta.

At the moment, don't have the snowy mountain elements - perhaps you may have some?...

I'm not looking to spend much or any money to get this done, but if that what it takes I'm willing to negotiate.

LA area only please.

Thanks,

David

is there anyway that you can post a couple of clips? so that we can get a general idea of what type of shots we're dealing with, un-foreseen issues, etc... thanks!

Salatar: Any particular reason? I'd say it's a good place for it... (although it would be nice for the original poster to reply to some of the people who are responding in here...)

Original "Poster" here.

Didn't think I was breaking any forum rules w/ the post...

I've been replying to some folks via e-mail, but I'll elaborate further here.

This is a 35mm spec that needs matting/comp work - 2 of the shots have moving camera.

I'm in LA and would feel best working w/ someone here - just not comfortable shipping elements across the globe.

I've got some money to make it not entirely a freebee - hoping to find someone working at post house who's interested in doing a little something extra on the side for their own benefit as well.

Feel free to e-mail me directly if you've got any questions.

You're not breaking any rules.... At least, Salatar, if you feel he is, can you get in touch with me by PM and explain?

dave: I see - from here it looked like you posted and then 'disappeared'... My apologies!

If I wasn't the other side of the pond, I'd be interested.....
