Hello,

We've started the new post-production studio in Ukraine. And it's interesting for me to listen your critics for our showreel.
Here's it (mpeg4, about 20 mb):

hey i think its a good example of a great reel, its really good stuff - very professional and packed with lots of different shots from different projects you worked on! I would say that the rest of the website needs some work though - a good website goes as far as a good reel!

i could only ask a few questions

what tools do you use in house for most of your work?
what was your favourate project?
how long did it take you to get the reel togeather?

this is another question someone asked me recently... whats the best way to edit your reel... so

what tool did you use to edit the reel itself and how did you go about doing it? seems like a lot of back-back shots laid out on a single track?

great stuff! good luck!

Thank you. We making filling now for our site. So I think that 1st of May everything will be there.

Our main tools for now is maya, aftereffects and dfusion.. but we're thinking to move with something like nuke or shake. Now in our plans multilayer output from maya with possibilities to control lighting in compose and make finess tuning not in 3d, but in compose software. And I think we will choose soft which have scripting language, to automize some tasks.

what was your favourate project?

My favorite project for now is "Night watch 2" (day watch) where we have done about 60 shots. This is shots in the end of reel with falling houses and some of them in the middle of reel, where main hero pushing and breaking the glass.

To edit the reel we spend about 4 days. At first I choose my favourite music.. we have listen it about 20 times to understand if it good for us. Then make folder with chosen works. Cut interesting parts from ads and feature films we are working for. And start to edit, by combining shots that suits for us... so there's no special tricks to do it.
All reel was edited in iBook 1,3 in finalCut with 12" display.

ps. Sorry, but maybe I dont understand right this question "seems like a lot of back-back shots laid out on a single track?".
