View Full Version : newbie: export a mask
April 24th, 2006, 12:58 PM
I have been requested to re-build a DF 4 project in Fusion 5. I have figured out how to save splines so i can re-import them in 5, but I can't seem to save masks. I don't mind if I have to save them as eps files and re-attach the motion path later. I just need to get the mask from fusion 4 to fusion 5.
To SUM UP: How do I export the mask in a compatible format for fusion 5?

Moving masks or just still ones?

The mask is animated, both in center displacement, and the polychain. My assumption has been to export the shape, and aslo export the individual splines. In this case, the spline for center displacement and the spline shape change. When I import it to fusion 5, I am seeing a path appear, but nothing is happening to the mask in motion or shape change. The mask also appears to be flipped on 1 axis.

The mask is flipped because they changed the coordination system from version 4 to version 5. One way to get around that is to set either the x or the y rotation of the mask to 180 degrees (can't remember which one right now)
I am not sure about how you'd import a moving mask though.
