Not sure if this is the right Thread.

Started getting into coloring and grading. Company just bought a copy of Final Touch, been doing some projects on it and very easy to use, but need to get a hold on the technical side and learning the "STANDARDS" of a colorist. I know one day I will get a DP that is very experience in coloring and I just wanna be ready when he has questions and make sure I don't look like an idiot.

So, after all that... does anyone know a good book for Colorist? things that would teach use charts, etc. Most of our production is HD and FILM. Anything would help thanks. BTW I did some research and found some books, just wanted to get some inputs or other books I might not come by. THANKS AGAIN.

I'd say check out the 'Telecine Internet Group' and read through the mailing list archives and Wiki at http://tig.colorist.org - also http://cinematography.net has some really great informative threads coming from a DP's perspective.

hope it helps!

I just ordered Color Correction for Digital Video, as for the photoshop books... I'm pretty good with PS and I know some techniques in PS I can use in Motion Graphics.

I'm actually very strong in color and very picky, I just don't know how to communicate as in terminology, though the Pantone book looks very interesting, I like reading about color philosophy also; it helps me sell an idea on using color, works very well with directors or clients that are picky with colors.

Thanks alot guys and thanks for the link jah, didn't know http://tig.colorist.org existed.
