We just got Fusion 5 at my studio and we're running into some trouble. Why will Fusion run great on our old:

Intel Celeron 2.5Ghz
768 Ram
40GB HD
ATI stealth crappy video card
Windows XP professional

-But very unstable on our new:

AMD X2 4400+ Dual Core
3GB Ram
400GB HD (40GB raptor, 360GB Sata)
Nvidia Geforce 6600+ video card
Windows XP (not professional)

Actually, it doesn't run "great" on the old machine, but it is certainly stable.
Any thoughts? We would appreciate all your suggestions!

Is your /3Gb switch set? If you have more than 2Gb available Windows can create problems with memory allocation. Especially if Fusion wants to use more than 2Gb without this there can come instablity from that. Also some Nvidia drivers are more stable than others.

Definitely send as much info as you can to Eyeon tech support. They're very responsive and should be able to give you some helpful insight.
Invariably the first thing they'll tell you is to make sure you are running the most current drivers for your video card.
And of course also to make sure that you are operating the latest version, with the most current build(Fusion 5.02 Build 82
Released on June 16, 2006).
-the last couple of .rev updates have really helped a lot with stability.
