The horror film Ring

Hi,

I want to know, how you create the distorted, shaky and fluctuating image...like in the film Ring, when the video tape is played or when the ghost comes out of the TV screen...and partly like a bad quality video tape and TV noise.

A similar effects is done in the opening credits of Dawn Of The Dead.

there are several plugins such as Tinderbox's Bad Tv , Saphire's Scanline and DigiEffects's Video Malfunction...those are great tools for this kind of effects..You can also create it without plugins , create a layer , add grain , noise , add some wiggler motion , add extra layers , scale them animate them etc. use overlay or screen mode...its up to you..trial and error..
