im working on my portfolio at the moment, ive been using xsi for a while but clearly need some help. knowing me its probably a simple problem ive overlooked...

the scene is a house, no lights exist in the scene, the headlight is turned off. only the outside of the house is textured, the interior is merely a plain material. Ive tried renders various ways (with lights in scene, without, inside and out) and always the same result. the texured models render as if lit with a strong infinate light, no shadows either (no additional lights effect these models at all). the inside renders black as it should with no light present.

i have had a few issues with the project where a model became corrupt somehow and contunally crashed the scene and textures dissapeared randomly etc. ive exported all the models into a new scene which solved this problem...i have no idea if this cold be a reason.

any help or advice would be appreciated. ive hit a mental block with this one

thanks

Check if there aren't any inverted polygons on your models. Recheck you light setup and make sure you have shadows enabled in them so they can cast shadows. Check your passes and object partitions to see if they are not set in a way that they exclude some objects, etc. Make sure that you don't have any inclusive or exclusive lights set by mistake. Check your render settings to see if there is nothing wrong in there.

Well it could be a thousand things.

Cheers,
