Hi Paul,

Here ya go..right from their site:

Looks very cool, but it's propietary, so I wonder how may people actually use it.

i know of a few people that use it, it's supposedly somewhat like shake. if memory serves, i believe they even decided to release it for purchase right after apple bought shake and announced there would be no more PC support.

yeah i had a quick play at SMPTE in sydney
a few weeks ago.

its node based and was still in its first version.
so it was fairly buggy. so it crashed a few times doing a simple
composite.

looked fairly good though.

it was also $AU 12000.00.

hey dreggsy,

How was SMPTE ?? any chance of a review / rundown of the event ?? I had registered and planned on turning up friday...but i got swamped at work and they couldn't let me leave early enough to get down there :( ...

Anything really cool on the horizon ??

Cheers

Well first off
Discreet had the best setup.
Their stand was worth 150K.
They were pretty much the only people
doing real life demos.
Max, Flame8, Smoke, Combustion.
Look out for their Lustre system
(Realtime Colour Correction system)
3DS Max new particle flow upgrade is amazing.
Break downs of some of the latest commercials
here in OZ.

I was looking for a demo of shake3
but couldnt get my hands on one.
No demos of Maya or XSI or Lightwave.

compositing and colour correction through FCP???? i dont think so
but apple think its possible ( to a certain extent )

alot of companies telling me that their product was better than another
companies product only to see it crash pretty soon after. LOL.

Discreet gave many many many beers and food.
thats all i can really remember.

cheers
Jason
