Hi, I was wondering if Fusion is suitable for motion graphics works.

I've following fusion for a while, installed the demo, play around with it and follow a few tutorials... However I hope to get some opinions from people who use it for motion graphics for tvc works.

AE is my main tool at the moment. My usual job includes motion graphics and 3d compositing (generates 3d models and composite them together, not real live action footage, I dont do roto).

However I found AE is a bit too cluttered for compositing many elements, as its layered based.

What I dont quite know is whether fusion have as many plugins as AE (original or 3rd party). Im aware of Fusion's fully 3d environment and a true particle system, those are the reasons why I'm considering to put my effort into learning more about this app, and hopefully I will use it for commercial project in the near future.

Anyone who is using Fusion for mograph work, tvc effects, etc, I'd like to hear your opinions. :)

Cheers

I just realized I post in the wrong thread ... its suppose to be under packages, not tutorial... if any mod see this, please move it to the right thread.

thanks

Look at my signature :D
Fusion can use allot of AE plug-ins via the AE adaptor they have. (What ones work some, partial, and not at all: takes testing)
DFT 55mm
Sapphire
Tiderbox

As for third party native:
SpeedSix
KKD
RE-Vision
Photron
(My list of favorites)

Why is Genarts still on that list I don’t know they are AE

I would check this out:

In my opinion, in node-based compositing you'll have a lot of merge nodes with animated fades (several elements on the screen for different durations) which can make things a little tricky, but the 3D environment in Fusion 5 opens a lot of possibilities.

Plus you can make tons of copies of 3D elements for some neat visual tricks.

Thanks for the links and replies, I realize that node base compositing packages like fusion or shake will be a bit unintuitive for things like keyframing and timelines for many layers ...

i guess i'll play with fusion a bit more to see whether it suits my needs
