View Full Version : Fusion 5.1 hotkeys don't work?? Please help!

Just upgraded to Fusion 5.1.100, and after installing it, I noticed that basically none of the hotkeys work (1,2,Ctrl+F,~,etc.), Not only that, but the hotkey manager won't run.

Anyone have any ideas? I'm at a complete loss, and I'm tied in knots without my hotkeys. :wheelchai

Also, eyeonscript.exe will sometimes jump to 100% CPU usage and just sit there, and whenever I close Fusion, Fusion.exe stays running for about 30 seconds, and eyeonScript.exe, and eyeonServer.exe just stay running forever. None of these things ever happened with 5.0. Any ideas?

Thanks much

Sounds to me like you've got a bad install. Specifically, eyeonScript.dll and/or eyeonScript.exe is mismatched to Fusion.exe - they're probably still the old version, didn't get upgraded properly. Check the Modified dates on each (in the Properties dialog) to confirm.

Quit Fusion, wait 10-15 seconds, then make sure that eyeonScript.exe is no longer present in your TaskManager's Processes list. If it's still there, kill it. Then try the upgrade again. Verify the modified dates on all the various Fusion files. If they now match, your problems should be gone.

Thanks for the reply.

The thing about the new version is that it doesn't install over 5.0, but instead installs to a new directory, etc (It even says in the installer not to try to install it over 5.0). eyeonScript.dll is definitely version 5.1, and all the files have different date stamps than the 5.0 files. I still have 5.0 installed, since 5.1 isn't working right yet, and I've cross-referenced the dates and versions on a lot of stuff to check.

When I quit Fusion, eyeonscript.exe and eyeonserver.exe don't ever close, and Fusion.exe takes at least a minute before it finally does (even though the main window is gone and everything). I've tried reinstalling it a couple times, clearing out obsolete registry keys and everything in between installs, but it's still having the same problems.

file>script>hotkey manager
see if hotkeymanager eyeonscript is in scripts/utility then check for veri scanners and firewalls

Yes, that was my first thought, but as I mentioned in my first post, the hotkey manager doesn't run... I click it and nothing happens.

Hey Alkali are you from Seattle Washington or Russia

I'm actually a student (junior) in Virtual Technology & Design at the University of Idaho is Moscow, ID (not Russia :)). I'm actually from Whidbey Island, WA, but I tend to just put down Seattle as it gives long-distance people a better idea of the region I'm talking about.

I'm actually starting to look for internships this summer, and I'm working on getting together enough quality stuff to put into some kind of reel.

Hi. Had the same problem: can't access to Bin, can't use common keys such as 1,2, Spacebar and Eyeonscript randomly crashed. I did a clean uninstall, reinstalled it and then the firewall installed asked for authorisation for fusion. I granted access and all worked like a charm.

Yeah, I got the request for the firewall access too, and I allowed it. I'll give it one more shot though.

BTW what are your system specs?

I tried reinstalling, but still no go.

The system I'm installing it on is a notebook with an Athlon 64 3700+, 1 gig, Mob. Radeon X600 w/128MB + 128MB HyperMemory. I've been running v5 for a looong time with absolutely no problems whatsoever (and I still am, since 5.1 isn't working right).

BTW all the processes still stay running after I close the program.

Actually I am. Is there a known issue there?

Care to elaborate?;)

I use it because it's the best/lightest AV software in existence, and I've never seen it conflict or interfere with any other program, even the ones that are supposed to have problems.

It seems I missed one of the steps in that workaround the first time around, but I got it now. Thanks a lot everyone!
