Hey,
I suppose this is a pretty basic question but here goes. I saw in the gnomon Nuke in Production dvd that a few nodes can be sort of group together and labelled. (lecture 1, the shark demo). How is it done? I went through every button in nuke but cant find any that can do this. I thought it would be "group" but it don't seems to be it. Any one can enlighten me on this? :)

Cheers,
JS

i believe i mention the hotkey ctrl-g for group.
this will group the nodes and assign inputs and output for the group. it's somewhat intelligent but can't know everything so you may have to connect the input and output manually.

Thanks throb! When u group nodes together, a new group node appear. Your old one still exist. Are they linked in anyway? If u delete the nodes outside the group node, will it affect those inside the group?

And when you group them, it doesnt appear like in your video. (In your video lecture 1, you have 2 groups. One is FG. The other one is TANK.) Is it because of different behaviour btw old pre 4.6 nuke and new nuke 4.6?

creating a group nodes with other nodes inside does not replace the original nodes. i don't like doing that so i made sure i kept the original nodes with the grouping script.

what you are referring to is the backdrop node. it visually groups nodes together but does not technically group them like the group operator does.
