Very cool reel buddy,
I liked the realism of the modeled cars very much. What program did you use for modeling and rendering? How did you do the animations of the girl with the printed "Su Ho" and "Plu To" on her shirt?

the cars were rendered by our 3d department in maya and mental ray

the girl from the music video was filmed on bluescreen, keyed an layered togehter in Fusion. she had trackermarkers on her shirt so we tracked the layers on her an adjusted the positon and deformation with a grid warp

So you did the car models/texture?

Really cool video by the way.

no, i did only the compositing of the different layers from the 3d-guys (diffuse, spec, refelection,...)

Solid Demo reel. Help me gauge where I need to take my car composites for my demo reel.

Nice.
Doesn't look like a challange for you, though ;-)

Cheers

riot gear, eh?

yeah, the drop at the beginig is from the riot gear stuff. but the idea and the static ink-drops are were made before i even heard of the RiotGear stuff. sounds unrealistic, but it's true. sometimes it seems that more people have the same idea (check the credits on "300", as i saw them i thought "damm, the same thing is on my reel")

Oh I am not poking at you at all. I have the package myself. All Video Co-Pilot products have been great thus far and I hope that he continues the trend. The only thing that sucks about having these types of things so popular and well known is that you then start to see it everywhere, by everyone.... Therefore one cannot use it themselves as much as they would like while staying unique. The end credits were similar in style but were not the actual riot gear pack. I believe Comedy Central was the first place I have seen that style came out on about 2 years ago.

What is riot gear? (I just want to check it out to make sure that I won't be stealing it by accident, but purely on purpose!

Great showreel! you got the CG nailed! the only thing I would say is the front legs of the deer seem to bubble a bit, maybe break it down with an overlay of the matte over the original image to test the edges? I would get it 100% nailed... also watch out for using too much much of a hard matte otherwise you will loose detail, hair strands, the arm blur etc (see attachment). Otherwise cool showreel!
