Data Operator Info - February 7th, 2010, 07:37 AM

Hi,

I have an interview on Tuesday for a Data Operator post in Soho. I would appreciate any info people have on such a position. salary, working hours, systems, duties, or any useful info.

Thanks,

Jon

I just saw your post, howd it go today? I have a different role but fall into that area occasionally, all i can say is with hours you'll be doing a lot as to be expected. A new junior tech assistant complained to me today that she did a 12hour shift and finished at 2am yesterday, as much as i sympathised it fell on deaf ears, you need to put the hours in to get to where you want to, we all do/done it. Where's it at? Salary would be above a runner but not much more. Hope that helps even if a bit late

Yeah it went okay, cheers. It was at Cinesite. The shift hours do sound quite challenging especially if you're doing a graveyard shift. But i suppose it's about proving your worth.

They seem to advocate promoting from within. They have schemes to train you up for your eventual desired role to be done in conjunction with your actual job. That impressed me a lot. Especially cos I know some of the places in Soho dont really do anything like that. Some places you join as a runner and that's where you'll stay.
