Execute Python in Nuke terminal - August 28th, 2008, 06:57 AM

Hello gentlemen!
Does anyone know the trick to execute a python script by Nuke terminal (non-gui mode). I know how to do this once I'm at terminal (just import my script), but I need to execute a number of commands calling Nuke from outside.

I could use rpc or any other remote tool, but I would have to import it first after "nuke -ti" starts.

Another option would be, if Nuke executes some scripts (like ini) on startup by default? Are there any of such?

Thanks in advance,
Simon.

Not sure on the first part, haven't tried it yet, will endeavor to figure out.

But to see what scripts Nuke executes at startup, run nuke with the -V tag ... you'll see that nuke will run any init.py on your path before startup non-gui, and also any menu.py on your path before startup full gui.

Thank you, -V flag was very helpful. Now I can do some action that can't be done in other way since as I was told Nuke 5.0v2 can't execute python script on terminal's startup. This should be change soon though...

cheers,
Simon.
