Hello Tom, I read on a post u made a few years ago that you were using Nuke's Stmap to use the Hype Lense distortion tool. I was wondering if you were able to get a 100% fit with that technique. I've tried everything and it still returns a blurred image when compared to what Hype returns. Thanks for your time..

Hey tommy, Just registered on VFX talk! I was interested in taking the comp course at escape and you seem to have good remarks about them! I have a small bit of back round with Nuke and Shake! But not much! Mostly self taught and reading books! But was looking to expand on it! What was your back round before you took their course? Had you experience already? Any info you have for me that might be useful would be great! cheers for your time! What studio you at in London? I have a mate in Dneg!

    Hi Wes,

Just had a look, and must say I'm pretty impressed. Some very good roto on there, and the comp stuff looks pretty good as well. Good eye for color!
Don't think you should have trouble finding work with a reel like that.
Loads of places are hiring at the moment, you just have to be a bit lucky i think.

One thing about your reel i'd try to change though...the shot with the vet hard girl climbing over the railing.
There doesn't seem to be any paralax in the BG plate (the city). You could try and break the the plate up in different planes and track them in slightly different, or even better, do it in Nuke with the 3D environment. I think it will help sell the shot more.

Have you sent out your reel yet?

Maybe relply to my email as it might be easier (tommy138@gmail.com)

    Hi tommy,

It's been ages! How are you and what are you up to?
So I finished my compositing course at escape and have put a reel together... was hoping you could have a look at it and tell me what you think? (be honest)
The last few shots are from a music video I got to work on directly after the course. Does it overall look ok for a first reel:
