Unhappy Problem with animated masks - March 9th, 2010, 01:12 PM

Hey everyone, the other day I was working with a 1 minute video with a LOT of animated masking... I was almost done, when I decided to watch what I had done so far, unfortunately all of the masks where completely destroyed, some of them switched to different layers, they moved to different time frames, some of the mask handles even moved. 10 hours of editing down the drain. Anyways, I still made the video without the special effects and now it's only 19 seconds long, click here if you want to see it http://bit.ly/bX6PcB

Does anybody know why this happened? Why did my masked go all out of wack? It's never happened to me before...

Did you animate the masks (rotoscoping) on separate solids? Maybe you moved the layer around (always lock them and make them invisible), or you've moved the layer in the timeline causing the keyframes to be out of sync.

It usually is something simple/stupid you accidentally did but don't remember.

I personally frequently keep looking at what I've done so far to be sure I don't have to throw away an hour worth of work.

"The pig go. Go is to the fountain. The pig put foot. Grunt. Foot in what? ketchup. The dove fly. Fly is in sky. The dove drop something. The something on the pig. The pig disgusting. The pig rattle. Rattle with dove. The dove angry. The pig leave. The dove produce. Produce is chicken wing. With wing bark. No Quack."
