Robby Branham: Nintendo Transformation

This is a personal project I started a while back. The entire project was done in a six day period. I am planning on adding better reflections, some mb, maybe go a different route with the particles. Let me know what you think.

I remember there was a personal project a while ago that someone did of a fake Coca Cola ad. That landed them an interview with Coke who were very impressed that one person had made them a great advert, but they were confused as to who commissioned it!
Ultimately these kind of things are accepted as okay so long as you don't sell the end product as a real piece of work representing that company. It's still a kind of IP infringement but so is using recognisable music on your show reel, something many people do.

Like the transformations. btw! I have an N64 behind me in its box, and I use a friends Gamecube as an occasional footrest.

Looking real good!

How was your approach to some project like this? I've seen many of this type of animations and do like the looks of it.

If you are still interessted in changing someof the animation aswell you might dig a little deeper in the motion of each part. They somehow feel jerky by moving, stopping, and then moving back.

http://www.tysonibele.com/Main/Anima...sony_style.mov (from Tyson Ibele)

If you look at one part of the object you notice the parts never stop moving this gives it a little extra dynamic.

As for the looks.
The N64 has a real strong specular / glow. you might want to mix it down a bit to get back some model detail I'm not sure if you really need any reflection because of the enviorment.

I'm still a learning student so correct me if I talk non sense!
