Staff Writer - 3D World magazine - based in Bath, UK - October 17th, 2006, 06:44 AM

Enthusiastic writer required, ideally with previous journalistic experience and hands-on experience of 3D software - for permanent position with 3D World magazine, at Future Publishing Ltd, Bath, UK.

About the magazine:
3D World is the only monthly magazine about 3D art, animation and technology, covering everything from special effects to game design, and from anime to architecture. Aimed at hobbyists to leading professionals, each issue provides industry news, software walkthroughs and tips, product reviews and wide-ranging features to keep the reader up-to-date with this fast-paced industry.

About the role:
As staff writer you will be writing the equivalent of 15-20 pages of copy for the magazine and its website each month - covering news stories, interview pieces and features. You'll be in daily contact with the 3D industry, both in person and via emails and online forums - to produce lively, well-structured and well-researched copy to tight deadlines.

About you:
You will be a fantastic writer, ideally with previous journalistic experience and with hands-on experience of 3D software or with the desire to learn as you develop in the role. You will also need to be self-confident and have great interpersonal skills in order to forge strong relationships within the industry. And, as you will be reasearching and writing to deadline, it will be essential that you have the self-motivation and enthusiasm to deliver on every brief.

What we can offer you:
In addition to a competitive salary, 28 days holiday per year, and comprehensive training programmes, 3D World offers you the chance to shape your role on the magazine to suit your talents and interests. You will be joining a small team so there is plenty of opportunity to learn a range of magazine crafts and take on new responsibilities. If you already have a technical background in 3D you may also be able to advance your career by taking on responisbilities for other sections within the magazine.

How to apply:

Please also quote your salary expectations when prompted by the system and submit a 500-word review of any recent 3D animated film, in the style of the 3D World's "Showreel" section.
