Toy Story 3 Stereoscopic conversion - October 13th, 2009, 12:21 PM

hi there
i just converted an image from the trailer and would like some of your comments

use red/cyan glasses

That's not too bad. One thing I would try, is to use 3D objects instead of cards. You'll get more detail out of the face and Buzz Lightyear's helmet. Her hair might do well in 3D too.

Basically you would create 3D models mimicking the shapes in the image. Then project that 2D image onto all the 3D geometry. The result would be depth within each object.

Another method, I think much quicker, would be to paint a grayscale depth map. Then use that to drive some displacement on a plane.

hi!
its looking good with the glasses...
would u like to share the method and procedure of how u did this and if we have to do this on a moving shot how shud one go about it?

Yepp, looks good with glasses here too. Tried about 5 feet from the screen and the depth works superb.

Sure, if Aruna and the boys says something could be enhanced, then it's most likely the case
