VFX Generalist Reel - February 8th, 2010, 06:24 AM

This is my graduate reel. I'm looking for some constructive criticism from the community here. If any one has any input, feel free to let me have it.

This reel is being sent to employers currently, my next iteration will have new content.

Thanks.

Thanks you two, but Toufik, what exactly didn't you like about the "Zombie Woman". Was it something technical or aesthetic? The comp or the sheer nakedness?

I agree with Toufik's comment about the zombie woman, did not like it too much.

For me, I thought the comping of the zombie woman was not executed as well as it could have been. Have you thought about trying out a different shader for the woman? As of right now, it's still too CG looking.

Anyways, nice job on the other pieces!

The Sub-Surface-Scattering can be tweaked even further of course. I think it's not the shader, but the animation. The movement is detectably cg, but thanks for your comment.

nice work vanzyl
but again in the zombie scene...animation could be a little more refined.
and maybe spend couple more minutes in color correcting the scene?

also the hand shot is executed well, but i felt as if the fingers of the fake hand were a little washed out...

but overall a nice job done

Thanks for the feedback everyone, didn't know the naked zombie woman was so disliked, jeez. It's always hard to divorce yourself from a shot. She taught me so much. The next iteration will include the suggestions above. Thanks again.
