Maybe as a future suggestion: how about zipping all entries up into 1 big file? To vote it's necessary to see them all anyway and it makes making sure you didn't miss any much easier. Best of luck to all who entered!

And now for the votes: It's been a very difficult challenge (but I guess that's why they call them that) As usual I try to be as purist as possbile about it, meaning that since the challenge was 'destroy the bridge' my vote will go to the entry that IMO destroyed the bridge the best and not per se the one with the best story or best paint work or whatever. Anyway here are my comments:

cbadvanced
CB - cute idea, but you know what you did :-)

Sorin
Beautiful paint work. Something I wish I was only 10% as good at as you are, really really nice. Very cool that you've managed to go all 2D at it. Downside to me is the destruction itself: the little bit that you show us of it is very cool and nicely animated, but the ropes of the bridge keep suspended in mid air even though one side of the bridge is completely gone. How is that possible?

Snarkle
Snarkle, what can I say? You can at least claim to be the first entry this week with a cartoon character coming out of the water :-)

Guiillt
Definitely the best impact splashes. One of the nicer ones in bringing alive the still and keeping it relatively realistic. Too bad the debris comes out of nowhere and doesn't affect the structural integrity of the bridge too much.

Justin Alvarez
Also very nice impact splashes in the water - I really want to know where you got these or how you made them. Apart from that some very good stuff in there. Only downside to me was the fact that the pieces that break off are a little too regular.

Djinn
Let's not forget PJ :-) Very nice. Nice 'plosions and I really like the way the bridge breaks away in section and even 'wiggles' a little before breaking off. Too bad about the CNN jokiness, because now it's very difficult to see how well (or how badly) you've done the water impact of the pieces, but that's nitpicking.

azkuene
A very nice WIP in my opinion. There's lots to like about it, but it misses some of the finishing touches that would have made it even better.

Mikeburton
I really like the idea of the Ghostbuster like precision of the lightning bolts. The animation of the pieces that come off is also very nice. I'm just not to crazy about the water and the splashes. But very promising.

Dreamie
And in keeping with the ghostbusters theme :-)
This one is also a lot of fun, but for something of that size you'd expect the Marshmallow Man to move a lot slower. Check out Ghostbusters again to see what I mean. Don't cross the beams!

ShadowMaker SdR
Well...what can I say about this one? :-) I just underestimated how difficult this one would be. Especially since I had never really used most of the stuff in Max that I needed to get this to be even remotely close to being cool. (i.e. reactor, particles etc) but then again, that's what these challenges are for.

Good luck to all!

I know what you mean, he should move a LOT slower. He's actually moving slowly on the first shot I did in the animatic, but since I had only 9 days to do the challenge, and after wasting like 4 days of modeling, texturing, rigging and animating the marshmellow man, I just said to myself, "Hey there's still a bridge I need to model and destroy.. " Which was the actual challenge. So I just finished the animation real quickly and moved to the more important stuff.

Anyhow thanks for your feedback, I'm still improving it at the moment. I'm not happy myself with quite a lot of things.

Good luck to all!

Hi,
Thanks for your words Shadowmaker. I didn't make all the details that I wanted to do. Mainly because the 3d studio MAX scene became very heavy, I don't know why, selecting an object became a difficult and slow task. Was very tedious to finish. The render and AE work was done in the last day.

If someone can't watch my video there is a quicktime version in my nice WIP

I voted for the person that started to work on dynamics.

I Agree with ShadowMaker SdR, Would be easier if all the entries were in 1 big zip or rar file. trying to DL all of them now but for some reason it will only let me DL 2 @ a time. Some pretty nice entries in this challange! I made the bridge and water and all that but I dont have enought experience in animating stuff in a 3d app so could not do much more then make a nice and peaceful scene =)
Anywho, nice work guys!
