Reading .CR2 RAW information into PS

I am working on making some HDRIs and, snapped pictures of the chrome sphere as RAW images, but I cannot bring in the RAW file (.CR2) into photoshop. Taper Pen tool at ONE end, not both

The usual tapering of the pen tool in photoshop is great... but this time, I really only want a taper at one end! And for the life of me I can't figure it out. Anyone out there know how to get a taper on only ONE end of a pen path when choosing to stroke the path?
