I will have to work with Alexa footages, full HD codex apple prores. Those footages are really bright and I wonder how to integrate 3D animations or 3D backgrounds from linear...

Here is our submission (made with authentic), the 3D is made with xsi and the compositing with digital fusion.

I prefer XSI,Very easy to create many passes.

well,a cylinder with passes will work,when the laser is right in the camera you could add compositing effects like glow,great light and so on....have you tried with that? More,your 're right not to...

Shadow marker is right,you have to create a cylinder and combine different passes to create what you want.
Could you post an picture of your shot ?

I like the idea,it's different from the cg ideas we are used to watching.I would like to see more,a longer story,in a one world : a short :)!
