Sorry to bring this back up again but I have started to make some changes to try and get it up to standard so I can put it on my demo reel. I spent some time tweaking the shaders...
So here is the final version for my comp III class
Still a lot of work to do before I can put it on my reel but I think it's coming along.

You can also put an add channel node right after your read node.
Change the channel you are adding to alpha and then change the colour to white.
Both ways work perfectly fine :)

Alright here is the render out of Nuke. Still have a couple issues with the track that I'll need to fix but I don't think that will be too hard to fix now.

The teapot I used had a blinn shader on it. However, in a different scene in which I was having the same issue, I was using a materialX_passes shader and was still getting...
I think for the issue with the black outline you just need to add an unpremult node...I'm pretty sure it's the premult that is causing the black outline so that should fix that.
