Yes you are able to open fusion comp files with a text editor. It is useful for finding errors when your script crashes.

Outside of fusion, navigate to where the footage is located, and drag-and-drop the footage into fusion. It should automatically import it into a loader.
It is possible to do this in Fusion. Floating point values and everything. The 3d system would be set up the same way, just the nodes are named differently.
