COMMENTS: I took an totally different aproach this time. I took my love for hip hop and weight lifting and used that as the base of my project. I did an old wu-tang style freestyle to make all the words fit in and rhyme. I added some effects and did all my color schemes in combustion and used pinnacle to edit the clips together.

    software. AfterEffects

comments. i wish i had more duration to make it better. no 3D used just stills.

i couldn't fit "wet" in my text so i guess it's symbolized by ripples.

    cheers!

    NAME: Konrad Haenel

    SOFTWARE: After Effects, Photoshop

    HARDWARE: Olympus Camedia C-3000 Zoom

COMMENTS: I always wanted to play with the 3D-Compositing in After Effects. I consider this "advanced compositing" and not real 3D as AFX clearly is a compositing tool. Now I did it and I must say I am surprised of how powerful it is ( ). All I needed for this clip was the software and my digital photo-camera. I would have done a longer anim if the rules permitted it and I would have loved to add more sophisticated sound to it. Whatever, enjoy!

PS: And to my fellow contestants: Do as I do, sit back, relax, have a smoke and watch what's up for VFX005.

Here we go...5 minutes before deadline...

We thought that someone (paul?) must have been on dope, when concocting this challenge - and let that inspire us.

    Word explanation:
"Boyant" is in the way our character hopes to feel and in the boyancy of the smoke and fish, if you will.
The fish are in "wet" water.
"Escape" is also what he hopes to gain and ultimately does.
"Illusion" is what he sees under the effect.
"Eclipse" is the form of his doom.
We know it's far fetched, but there's an image of Hal from 2001 over the fish. :-)

The smoke is composited in. The room was built in 3d and cameramapped for the zoom. The screen was blacked out and 2d-tracked...and some more stuff. :-)

    <<get file here>>

    Have fun!

Apologies for the lateness in closing this challenge - I've only just got up.... (usually Paul does it, cos it's right in the middle of the day when it finishes for him...)
