Hi, guys! *damn, i keep pressing the f letter instead of the g letter, annoying*

This is the first time i work with AE, my first project. But i seem to be having a little problem with the white colour after i render it. While working with the project file and video footage in AE, my white is really white, but after i export it (and i tried several formats: quicktime, avi) the white colour seems to be somewhat grey-ish and its killing me. I can't really tell why, so i'm asking you.

Sorry for the image quality, but i didn't bother to upload it max quality, space preservation lol

See you in a post or two.

Appears to be a gamma problem, I loaded your image in another application and changed the gamma to 2.2 and they looked almost identical minus jpg artifacts.

The buggy right image (which represents the issue) is actually re-constructed in Photoshop, because i don't know how to capture images from video.

Another strange thing i just found out is that when i import the rendered file, the white colour looks normal again... which leads me to a conclusion that the problem may be the playback program, maybe it's settings are modified? (1)

edit: I'll upload the video in a minute, if someone bothers to check it out.

    edit 2: Here's the link (zshare) 01 car fly in.mov - 1.18MB

    edit 3: Refering to (1)
Hmm... i just checked if the white colour is displayed differently in other programs... Media player Classic screws up. The online quicktime player at zshare screws up. Windows Media Player 11 doesn't... so i may actually be right. Can someone check it out? Thanks.

I just watched your video and it looks normal on my screen, as you suggested maybe its your video player. Which one are you using that is produces this problem?

Windows Media Player Classic... the new one doesnt cause problems in interpreting the images... pretty strange.

are you using any compression? the white is probably out of the broadcast safe anyway. Once outside AE, color is dictated by the viewing program or your cpu's color system settings (of the monitor) not by AE's system (which is a form of adobe rgb by default). A render will never look exactly the same (especially once things are ccompiled down into a flattened video file) as in after effects.
