I have not worked so much in the 3d part of nuke but looking a bit at it now. I wonder, If I create a cube primitive, can't I pipe one texture to each side of it? And can I change the UV's of an object like in i.e Maya? Like resize the UV for each side of the cube

Sorry but the answer is no for both questions. The 3d Cube has each faces UV points set to the same 0,1 area. Modifying UV's is just like being able to modify vertex points - currently Nuke doesn't support it.

Wow! You are fast nrgy! =)) Thanks for your reply.

SO then my approach with projections as in the attached screenshot maybe ain't that bad?

It is a DVD jewel case. One cam for the back (is it called spine?) and one for the face. Maybe it would have been better to use two cards with two different textures but wanted to try this approach. =) What do you say... Way off?

The top three nodes are acctually another picture. Just replaced it for this screeshot and therefore reformated it back to the "correct" size. Also might remove one of the rotos since it's just the same but inverted. Might be nicer to pipe it in with an invert and then a copy... But what i wonder is if this s how you would go on with a scenario like this...? =)

You could just load the box in a 3d package, edit the UV's, then export the model back out along with a UV texture map.

Wow! Awsome! Didn't know it was that smart so that the UV-space follows the OBJ. Realy neat! Just to lay it out in mayas uv texture editor and then export the obj and use the same texture in Nuke. WOW! =) Now I just have to lookinto those different nuke materials to. =)

    Thanks a billion nrgy!

Uv data gets carried with obj as a file format, I don't think that it is exclusive or really has anything to do with Nuke.

Just make sure you keep your UV's inside the 0,1 box. If you have UV's outside the 0,1 box then your image that you pipe into a 3d object as a texture is going to need to have an ROI that goes outside its XY Format coords.
