    Watch this space!

I shall soon be working on a greenscreen tutorial using After Effects 5.5. It will mainly focus on keying and finishing.

I've got one that I wrote a while back (for PostProductionForum.com) on corner-pin tracking - I'll re-write that and post it on here at some point...

One thing that we do NOT want to do is post in other forums - we don't want people to feel that we are stealing people away from their forum.

Newsgroups may be a good way of getting to people, as well as mailing lists - if we can get a good (small-scale) start, we may be able to get some of the bigger sites to mention us (places like CGChannel, etc...)

Some contact with professional compositors would make a big difference, too....

    Anyone?

OK, I have a HUGE amount of "kinda" tutorials that I wrote and used when I was teaching effects and comping, I can dig all that shite out and convert it from shorthand into something that people will understand, when I get a life back anyway .. hopefully not too long ....

Only thing tho is that they are mid-to advanced level tutorials ... umm things like "How to create realistic fire" and "How to make 3d redundant by doing good FX" and stuff like that ... definitely not beginners stuff, my students were all medium-to-advanced kinda thing

Also, attracting members .... just let the site do it guys, cos it's lookiing pretty damn good now! Keep the news current and the style, humor and info flowing and they will come ... yes, if you post it, they will come ......

ValHallen, signing off, rodger breaker effects barbeque out ...

    *sigh* I keep editing this

Thanks for the offer of tutorials!

If you've seen the tutorial system, you'll know the format that they are in - small(ish) 'steps', each one with an image (or not)

As I keep promising, the tutorial submission system will be up soon (it will DEFINATELY be up before the launch this time next week).... If you get something done before then, do e-mail it to me.

Watch this space/My name, been thinking about tuts and I will write some simple assed ones to start with, more theory and information rather than "how to build a robot" kinda of things ... eventually I will post the high-end AE tuts I have, but I thought that, looking at some of the posts over at 'Buzz that things like "Pixel Aspect" and "Codecs" might be a goodd place to start ....

    Thoughts Guys?

OK, it looks like draft .0001 has gone up .. take a squiz and let me know what you think/what needs to be changed .. it's not so much an After Effects tutorial, as more of a general theory .. in fact it dowsn't mention any comping package by name at all .. not bad huh

Anyway, it's almost 4am, so I'm posting and then off to sleep.

Have a peek, let me know, catchya later.

Just had a read through it - it's very clear and easy to understand. I've never been entirely clear on pixel aspect ratio myself before....

I couldn't see anything that felt it really needed to be changed - it seems to cover all of the basics.

    Thanks for that!

Well I guess that begs the question of how do you want it? Want me to leave it there and link it, or do you wanna grab it and whack it up here ... up to you guys

It's got quite a nice layout at the moment, so let's leave it where it is for now (I'll put a new tutorial in the system with a link to it) - the tutorial system will (hopefully) be somewhat easier to use soon, and then I'll have another think about that....
