    Hi all,
this is my previz.. I want to integrate 3d-hellycopter to video clippart.. First, that I was do is 3d-tracking with boujou, then integrate 3d with 3ds max & animate it. I need some advises. I want to convert sunny weather to nasty, create rain. I use Boujou, 3ds max & Eyeon Fusion for collect passes.

    My previz here: http://www.filefactory.com/file/ed7012/

Or upload it right here on the website. You should be able to get a fairly decent sized *.mov right here on this forum.

Nice WIP, the tracking seems good, but I don't think a heilicopter would start that fast.

tracking is good, shadows are way to blurred (everything that size should leave a pretty sharp shadow), lighting is nice, but too much fill light (you have to mimic the sunlight, so while there's bounce light on the left side of the copter you have to dial it down), motion blur is off in the shadow. There's some scale issue (notably in the shadow on the building). Also, the same shadow is way too dark. The biggest issue is in the animation: a real copter is always moving in every axis, even if it's a small movement. So you can't go up and then stop and turn and then go to the side. you have to blend all the movements into a smooth trajectory. Also, the poles shoule be curved upwards and not downwards while flying (gravity effect).

I didn't mean to sound harsh tough It's quite cool

I agree with Jiast, much sharper shadows on the copter itself, maybye that will do it, but it seems a bit to desaturated.

If you look at the first frame, i think it needs more motion blur, not much though.

Looking forward to the next WIP / finished product!

Thanks a lot for your comments! Yeah, shadows are bad. 3DS Max can't normaly rendering shadows with motionblur. Trying to do something with that problem.
I'm not telling you, that is finished product I want to create full 3d-integration, maximum realistic + convert the weather after.
Wip is WIP, I spread intermediate results to not leave far aside in an incorrect direction. What planing the critic not was, I am always glad to it, because it allows you to be improved. Will be and in mine WIP an end-product but as I work above it at leisure there will be it little bit later.
I have taken on a note all remarks and I shall consider them. Up to the following update

Yes, it can. You just need to use object motion blur or render in mental ray I think.
The default motion blur (I'm not sure what it's called right now) is basically a vector motion blur and since shadows don't have vectors they won't be blurred.

BTW where did you get the original shot? It's a very cool testshot for 3D tracking.
I'd love to have it to experiment with.

I was used object motion blur and I was rendering in Mental Ray I think I don't need render in *.tga. I will try to do it in exr.
