Hey Guys I'm using MAya 2008. Having problems with the renderer bailing out after 25 or 30 frames. It just stops. Any clues?

I am using the software renderer.

Does it crash or just stop? Does it throw any errors? Is Maya still intact when it quits?

The batch renderer crashes but Maya stays open. It has given me a error telling me that the batch renderer has quit.

I have reset the preferences and still am experiencing the problem.

save ur file in .ma format(in render settings u've 2 choose correct location where u want 2 save).. close maya and right click tat file choose render.. u'll get ur output file quicker than others. I think ur hardward requirements r not fulfilled.

Or setup a command line batch file, like crichard said, it will render faster and be more stable during the render. You don't even need Maya open. It's what people do for anything more than a few frames.
